Welcome to Sherburn and Villages U3A

No longer in full-time work or raising a family? Join Sherburn & Villages U3A to meet new people and enjoy exploring a wide variety of interests - all for just £10 a year (plus a one-off £2 joining fee).

We have over sixty interest groups with activities to suit everyone - and if you can't find the group you're looking for - we can always put you in touch with members who can join you in starting a new one!

What is the u3a?

Founded over 35 years ago, the UK U3A movement (based loosely on the French model) aims to encourage groups of people in their third age to come together and continue their enjoyment of learning in subjects of interest to them.

From the start, the guiding principles were to promote lifelong learning through self-help interest groups covering a wide range of topics and activities as chosen by their members.

About our u3a

We are a friendly bunch of local people, just like you, running Sherburn and Villages U3A, one of over 1000 U3As in the UK.

We are all volunteers and work together to help each other, making new friends and carrying on with informal group learning and leisure activities with over 60 interest groups.

We hold a monthly meeting on the third Thursday of the month at 2.00 pm in the Eversley Park Centre, Sherburn in Elmet.

You are welcome to come along to see what we offer, there is no obligation to join immediately, and, if you like what you see, you can join us there or by mail later.
