Report on Flower Arranging Group Meeting - Harrogate Spring Flower Festival, Tuesday, 2 April 2013
The pavilions, marquees and stalls sold every kind of usual and unusual plants, flowers and garden goods you could want, from £10,000 thatched sheds to a £1 for carved wooden mice. One of the highlights of the show was the Flower Art pavilion. The creativity and imagination of the competitors was awe inspiring. They used wood, wool, string, cellophane, toys and flowers to create wonderful arrangements. One very clever exhibit was the music of the Beatles in flower form.
We saw demonstrations on cookery, flower arranging and gardening and all the experts and stall holders were so helpful and friendly.
We left at 4:30pm with sore feet, full bags and empty pockets!
Many, many thanks to Christine for arranging the tickets and driving.
