Report on Book Group Meeting - Meeting, Monday, 14 December 2015

At our December meeting, held in a festive atmosphere at Lizzie's house, we discussed the autobiography "This Boy" by the politician, Alan Johnson. Comments varied from "an excellent synopsis of social history in the 1950s" to "a boring and repetitive selfish school boy's memories of a deprived childhood". The book finishes when Mr Johnson reaches the age of 18 and gets married. Marks out of 10 ranged from 2 to 8 with an average score of 5.
We are now reading "A Place Called Winter" by Patrick Gale and will meet to discuss it on 11th January.
Happy reading, Merry Christmas and a Healthy New Year to all.
