Report on Holidays and Travel Group Visit - Skiing Holiday in Livigno, Italy, Saturday, 5 March 2016
For the fifth year in a row a group of Sherburn U3A’ers went skiing together.
Down now to a hard core of three enthusiasts plus one non skiing photographer, the group chose Livigno in Italy, close to the Swiss and Austrian borders for 2016.
Blessed with a heavy dump of snow on arrival day, the group spent the week under blue skies enjoying fabulous conditions and Italian ambience.
With extensive skiing and plenty of off piste on both sides of the valley, all accessed by a regular and reliable free bus service, the town has a lot to offer – cleared pathways for walkers, cross country ski tracks, quad bikes, skidoos, horse riding, cart racing, water and wellness centre, duty free shopping, some great pubs and restaurants and beautiful scenery.
Italy still provides excellent value for money with a coffee up the mountain still only 2 Euros – feel like joining us next year?
