Report on Holidays and Travel Group Visit - Budapest , Monday, 1 May 2017
- Led by June Sams
An excellent destination for our Holiday group and 33 of us took advantage of the convenient flight from Leeds Bradford to Budapest followed by a somewhat hairy taxi ride - no bans on using mobile phones while driving in Hungary! The hotel was fine and well situated with plenty of bars and restaurants in the vicinity. I think we were all Goulashed out by the end of the week but it was delicious.
Plenty to see and do to suit all interests with buses and boats to try and easy walking. Spectacular views both day and night when the buildings were illuminated and a fascinating foray into the Jewish quarter for a very Bohemian evening experience.
We all returned safely despite one of our party having had a closer view of a Hungarian hospital than she was expecting - she was not impressed - and a leg in a rather scruffy plaster. For all its faults can't beat the NHS.
Some lovely pictures from Alex to bring back memories for those who came and make those who didn't wish they'd been there.
