Report on Book Group Meeting - Meeting, Monday, 9 October 2017

I think that it would be fair to say that our recent novel, "The Secret History" by Donna Tartt is definitely a "Marmite" book; some of us loved it and others loathed it! Quite a few members had not finished the book and regarded it as a waste of time and effort and others had practically devoured every page. We all agreed that the characters were all rather unlikeable and odd and possibly deserved their fates. Our marks out of 10 for the book ranged between 2 and 9 with an average score of 5. On the basis of had we enjoyed the book and would we recommend it to a friend, the majority answer was a resounding No!

Our book for next month is Bill Bryson's "The Road to Little Dribbling" and we shall meet on 13th November to discuss it.
