The quarterly meeting held in Spikes Bistro, Scarthingwell Golf Course, was attended by 25 holiday group members. The meeting opened with a review of the May holiday to Oxford, Cotswolds and Longleat. It was felt by those who when on the trip that everything went well. The hotel was good and all the excursions had been successful and enjoyed by everyone.

For the Liverpool short break in August, 30 people have booked and the travel company was holding the availability open until the end of June for anyone else wishing to join us. Liverpool itineraries and luggage labels were handed out to those at the meeting.

Final balances for Barcelona need to be paid by 1st July. 22 people have booked so far for this October holiday and members were reminded that everyone should now have holiday insurance in place.

The remainder of the meeting was devoted to discussing the April 2019 trip to Holland. 3 options were discussed - Ferry/Hotel £460 (4 nights:2 ferry/2 hotel), Flight/Hotel £540 3 nights or Flight/Hotel £590 4 nights. Although the most expensive option (the flower festival season demanding high prices) the general vote was for the Flight/Hotel 4 nights Monday-Friday (ferry option not popular). The chosen £590 option is inclusive of admission to Keukenhof Gardens and 2 other day trips including Amsterdam. Based on this positive feedback, Hazel and team would carry on scoping out the holiday to get the best possible package and would publish details in the coming weeks and will also be shared with the Gardening Group. A list of names was collected of those members showing initial interest in this holiday.

The date of the next meeting was confirmed as Friday 14th September 10.30 am again at Scarthingwell when we would be reviewing the Liverpool trip, finalising Barcelona details and looking ideas for a UK holiday in 2019.
