Report on Serendipity Group Meeting - West Yorkshire Astronomical Society Rosse Observatory, Friday, 18 October 2019
We made a second visit to the Rosse Observatory, our last being in March 2016
We listened to a very interesting talk entitled 'Anyone Out There' - what are the chances of intelligent life existing beyond Earth?
We were split into six groups and asked to answer questions within a range of estimates and offer our findings.
No one knows anyway so our conclusion was largely irrelevant.
Unfortunately to sky was covered in cloud so we were unable to look through the new telescope, however we still climbed up into the dome to see and have the technical details of the telescope explained.
The society is open to visitors every Tuesday and Friday evening and visitors are welcome.<
