Report on Book Group Meeting - , Monday, 14 September 2020
Seven members of the group had an interesting meeting held at the Eversley Park Centre on Monday evening. Under the new Rule of Six this meeting falls into the permitted category because we were in a Covid risk assessed community centre with social distancing marked out spaces, hand sanitisers and chairs which are cleaned after being used etc.
We discussed which books we had been reading during lockdown and quite an eclectic list was compiled for us to order from the library so that all memebers could read them and comment on them at future meetings. We also decided to continue meeting at the Eversley Park Centre because it is convenient for most members and has plenty of parking available.
We are trying to obtain more copies of "A Single Thread" by Tracy Chevalier to make it our book for September. Other novels which were discussed are as follows:
Acriss The Winding River - Aimie K. Runyan
Honeysuckle Season - Mary Ellen Taylor
The Curious Charms of Arthur Pepper - Phaedra Patrick
Bodies of Light - Sarah Moss
The Secret Lives of the Amir Sisters - Nadiya Hussain
Wide Sargasso Sea - Jean Rhys
If the library manage to obtain more copies of "A Single Thread" I shall email members and let you know from where you can collect them.
Our next meeting is on Monday 12th October.
